Monday Morning Alarm

I’m writing this as the fire alarm for the building beeps its deafening song. It’s been three quarters of an hour so far.

We were just leaving when the alarm went off and the elevators locked. We were stuck! Becky hates loud noises, so she’s got head phones on and is in the quietest part of the unit. She’s not happy. I can watch the fire fighters in the lobby through the CCTV cameras. They don’t seem concerned. All their equipment has been packed away and they have taken their yellow coats off. A couple of announcements have told us they are investigating something on the 16th floor and they are trying to switch off the alarm. Obviously, the alarm is being triggered by whatever problem is going on above us, as we are still sitting here.

How long does it take for a fire alarm to cause hearing loss? Just wondering.

How long does it take to have hearing loss from a fire alarm? Probably as long as it took to write the blog…no wonder people don’t like Mondays!!!

Noooo, the alarm went on for another 45 minutes! I have a bit of ringing in my ears and a headache, but otherwise, we’re all good. BTW I don’t think much of Tuesdays either…
