On the way home last night, Becky and I stopped at an Italian bakery to pick up some treats for our celebration dinner.

As it was a special night (see yesterdays post) I decided to crack open the barbeque. Becky prepared all the food.

20130416-162203.jpg Chopped veggies.

20130416-162242.jpg She grated the cheese and prepared the pizzas while the veggies were cooking.

Once the veggies were cooked, I piled them on top of the pizzas and put them back on the barbecue for ten minutes.

Voila! All done.

Becky showed how much she had improved over the last year by preparing all the food single-handed; literally, with one hand. She’s not ready to leave home yet, but she is still working on those important life skills. Considering her level of physical disability and that her cognitive age is probably around thirteen or fourteen, she manages remarkably well. She also makes great pizzas! Yum!

  3. You better be careful. Posting pictures like that and inviting Alicia round for dinner you could end up with an army on your doorstep waiting to be fed before you know it!

Chuffed for you that after such a testing time you had a night of success to lift the burden. Hopefully many more to come…..

That gives me an idea; Becky’s Cafe, serving afternoon tea and BBQ pizzas. 😉

Thanks for your support, Steven. I’m sure we’ll have a fun summer at the house. Sounds decadent, doesn’t it. 🙂

We had a decided weakness for nanaimo bars when we lived in Canada. Ah memories! It all looks like a lovely feast.

Sorry, to have missed such a feast. I love the different foods of Canada. coming to Canada in 1956 from the U.K. I was overwhelmed by the variety of foods and still amat times though I still enjoy good old fish and chips. It is amazing how much Becky has progressed over the years, perhaps she will start her own cafe. Who can Tell? Grandma K

We do enjoy our food! As you say, there is so much variety here, and Becky seems to like most of it. I really love it when we prepare a meal together. It always seems special. Sorry you missed the feast. It was good. 🙂
