I went shopping for fabric yesterday, and was completely stunned by the beauty of the designs.
I took photos to bring home with me because I couldn’t decide what to buy. Too many choices!
I finally chose the Paris design.
Now, what was it for? I read a brilliant blog about a week ago and was inspired, and encouraged, to re-cover my dining room chairs. My neighbour across the road is fast becoming a woodworking genius, so I’m keen to have a go at something new. Hey, if she can build a door, I can re-cover a chair.
I started on the chair after lunch. There were a million staples I had to pull out before I could start. Naturally, I stabbed myself and started to bleed over the new fabric. Oops. Band aid/plaster in place, and I carried on. It took about forty-five minutes in total!
Once that was done, it was much easier to staple the new fabric in place. I pulled the staples out on one side and did it again because it was wrinkled.
I’m sure I’ll be better by the time I finish the sixth chair. Anyway, here is the chair

Five more chairs to go. I love the one I’ve completed. I just hope my hands will hold out till the project is finished.

I love the print you picked out, its so pretty! Im Love that you did this and I see you used a big staple gun. Good choice, I went and dug mine out for the other three chairs I did and it was much faster and easier. LOVE IT!

I’m glad you liked it. I would definitely have a go. My chairs have looked sad for several years, so this was a fairly inexpensive makeover. Plus it will keep you busy for a bit. Post a picture when you’re done. 🙂
Great fabric choice
Loved your choice of fabric. You are certainly a very talented person. Pleased Becky’s life is also taken shape. saturday I had a meal at Montana’s with Susan and her family. Glenn, her husband, and her have his grandchild along with her half sister every other weekend so they also were with us. Susan is teaching them to ride one of her ponies and they are doing well. The oldest girl has Down’s but is high functioning and is a very lovable and likeable child, she is doing well in spite of her disability. My computer was down for a time but I managed to get it up and running, all because of a loose wire. Enjoy this snow day. Oh, to be in England for the spring flowers! Ev

I had a difficult time choosing a fabric; they were so gorgeous. Luckily there was a sale ending that day which pushed me to make decision. Glad you like the finished project. 🙂

Thanks, Renee. I’ve got two chairs left to finish the set. It’s a fun project. Depending on how many staples are in your chairs, you could finish two chairs in a day. My chairs have about 150 each that have to removed. I just do a bit at a time. Let me know how it goes. Thanks for stopping by.

I’m really glad I did this project. It looked great when all the chairs were finished. I still have some fabric left and am thinking about covering a lampshade. I can’t knit or crochet, so I’m limited in my creative output. A cup of tea always helps. Thanks for visiting. Happy Easter 🙂
